Therefore, Repent is a supremely unique and inventive and bold graphic novel, the likes of which I don't believe I shall ever see again.
The story's a post apocalyptic tale, quite literally, with angels roaming the street of the Earth, wearing combat helmets and bearing arms. It's a divine police state, with talking dogs and desperate humans. It's horrific, strange, and creative.
If you're often overwhelmed at the prospect of committing to a comic book series, have no fear: this is just one volume, so you can read it in one or two sittings. You don't have to invest in a whole series or puzzle over when and where to jump into an ongoing storyline.
This also happens to be a work by one of my favourite independent producers: Jim Munroe, anarchist, Ubuntu user, and producer of the excellent Infest Wisely film. If this is your introduction to Jim's work, it's a great place to start and pretty well representative of his style.
